    The Gauteng Tourism Authority is accepting applications for a permanent Executive Manager: Office of the CEO position, offering a total cost-to-company package of R2 133 658 per year. Applications close at 16:00 on 18 September 2026, with GTA seeking an experienced senior leader to provide strategic coordination within the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.

    The successful candidate will oversee organisational alignment, governance compliance, stakeholder integration, performance management and revenue sustainability functions.

    Executive Manager vacancy at GTA

    The position carries reference number EMO/2026 and is classified at Hay Group Salary Scale Level 21.

    According to GTA, the Executive Manager will act as a strategic integrator within the Office of the CEO.

    The position involves coordinating activities across different business units while supporting the implementation of GTA’s organisational mandate.

    The successful candidate will also provide strategic advisory support to the CEO.

    What the Executive Manager will be responsible for

    Responsibilities cover strategic integration, governance, corporate services, communications, stakeholder relations and commercial oversight.

    Key duties include:

    • Coordinating strategic alignment across GTA business units
    • Integrating human resources, communications and revenue functions
    • Providing strategic advice to the CEO
    • Implementing Board and Executive Committee resolutions
    • Monitoring organisational risks
    • Ensuring PFMA compliance
    • Supporting audit processes
    • Overseeing organisational reporting
    • Monitoring performance management
    • Overseeing stakeholder relations
    • Supporting industry partnerships
    • Monitoring revenue generation strategies
    • Providing leadership to direct reports

    The manager will also oversee legal and regulatory compliance and support implementation of audit findings.

    Corporate services and performance form part of the role

    The position includes oversight of human resources strategy and workforce planning.

    The Executive Manager will monitor organisational culture, employee engagement, labour relations and shared services efficiency.

    Transformation and employment equity targets also fall within the position’s responsibilities.

    The successful candidate will additionally oversee corporate communications strategy, high level stakeholder engagements and crisis communication preparedness.

    Revenue sustainability is another responsibility

    GTA has included revenue and commercial oversight among the key performance areas.

    The Executive Manager will oversee revenue generation and diversification strategies and monitor sustainability initiatives and funding partnerships.

    The successful candidate will also assess new commercial opportunities and report revenue performance to the CEO and Board.

    This means candidates need experience that extends across organisational strategy, governance, stakeholder management and performance oversight.

    Qualifications and senior management experience required

    Applicants need a relevant Postgraduate Degree or Diploma at NQF Level 8.

    Accepted areas listed by GTA include Public Administration, Business Management, Business Administration, Governance, Economics, Tourism, Law or a related field.

    A Master’s Degree at NQF Level 9 and an Executive Leadership Development Certification will be advantageous.

    Candidates need five to eight years of senior management experience, including at least three years at executive level.

    Public sector governance and PFMA experience are also required.

    Applicants should have experience leading teams and working in strategic planning, stakeholder management and organisational performance oversight.
