The GTA owns this publication and appoints a vendor through its procurement processes to operate it for a contracted period. It is operated by an appointed vendor under that process. Editorial output is produced under the mandate and oversight of the GTA; the operating vendor may change from period to period while ownership remains with the GTA.
How this publication is funded
What’s On G carries advertising, including Google AdSense. Proceeds support the Gauteng Tourism Authority’s mandate of maintaining and promoting a positive image of Gauteng. Advertising on this publication is confined to What’s On G pages; the GTA’s main corporate website does not carry advertising.
Why we cover lottery and gambling topics
The Gauteng Tourism Authority and the Gauteng Gambling Board (the autonomous regulator of gambling in the province, established under the Gauteng Gambling Act) are sister agencies under the Gauteng Department of Economic Development (GDED). Licensed gaming and casino destinations form part of Gauteng’s tourism and entertainment economy, and our coverage of lottery results, gaming venues and related consumer information sits within that shared provincial mandate.
