During the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) Gauteng Roadshow, Phumeza Tanou, Specialist: Content Management & Digital Channels at the Gauteng Tourism Authority, presented how the authority’s connected digital platforms are transforming the way residents, visitors, tourism businesses and strategic partners engage with the province. The presentation showcased how Gauteng’s official digital ecosystem is creating a seamless visitor journey, from discovering experiences to planning trips, booking events and supporting local tourism enterprises.

Tourism leaders are meeting at Emperors Palace in Gauteng on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, for the TBCSA Gauteng Roadshow, a day of discussions involving national and provincial tourism organisations. The programme brings the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, Gauteng Tourism Authority and South African Tourism together with bodies involved in funding, hospitality, tourism grading and cross-border transport. GTA CEO Mputle Dikobe and South African Tourism’s Tony Nkadimeng are among the key speakers as the sector considers issues affecting tourism businesses and Destination Gauteng.

Johannesburg will host the inaugural Africa Golf Tourism Convention from 18 to 21 August 2026, bringing together tourism authorities, international travel buyers, golf resorts, investors, airlines and government representatives from across the continent. The four-day convention will take place at Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Ekurhuleni and is expected to attract more than 300 delegates from over 20 African countries.
