Jill Scott fans are disappointed after the American soul singer’s South African concerts were cancelled. They were part of her To Whom This May Concern World Tour and were due to take place in Pretoria and Cape Town next month.
Promoter Showtime Management announced the cancellation on Monday, 19 October 2026, citing “unforeseen circumstances”. Ticket holders will get full refunds automatically.
Which Jill Scott Shows Have Been Cancelled?
| Date | City | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday, 7 November 2026 | Pretoria | SunBet Arena, Time Square |
| Wednesday, 11 November 2026 | Cape Town | Grand Arena, GrandWest |
Both South African dates are cancelled. No replacement dates have been announced.
What The Promoter Said
In its statement, Showtime Management said: “We regret to announce that the South African performances of Jill Scott’s To Whom This May Concern World Tour, scheduled for 7 November in Pretoria and 11 November in Cape Town,” would no longer go ahead because of unforeseen circumstances.
The promoter didn’t give any more detail about the reason. It apologised to fans and said a return visit is being considered: “Jill and her team are actively exploring the possibility of returning to South Africa at a future date.”
The statement added that “South Africa has always held a special place in Jill’s heart” and that “she remains committed to returning and reconnecting with her fans as soon as possible”.
Jill Scott hasn’t released a separate personal statement.

About The To Whom This May Concern Tour
Jill Scott announced the South African dates in March 2026. They were part of a world tour that started in June in Nashville, Tennessee, and was set to end in Cape Town in November.
The tour supports To Whom This May Concern, her sixth studio album and her first in more than a decade. It was released in February 2026 and follows Woman (2015). The 19-track album features collaborations with Ab-Soul, J.I.D and Too $hort, with production by DJ Premier and Andre Harris.
Jill Scott And South Africa
The Grammy-winning singer, known for neo-soul classics such as “A Long Walk”, “Golden” and “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)”, has a loyal following in South Africa and has performed here several times. She played Johannesburg in 2013 and Durban in 2017. Most recently, she headlined the DStv Delicious Festival in Johannesburg in 2024, where she told the crowd: “When you sing back, Joburg, it’s so beautiful and overwhelmingly wonderful.”
That history makes the cancellation especially disappointing for local fans, many of whom had planned their November around the Pretoria show.
