SARS Branch Operating Hours in Gauteng

Most SARS branches in Gauteng operate from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, with a slightly later start on Wednesdays at 09:00, closing at 16:00. These hours apply consistently across branches, ensuring taxpayers can plan visits during standard business hours. SARS branches are closed on weekends and public holidays.

The SARS Contact Centre, reachable at 0800 00 7277, follows the same schedule and provides support for booking appointments and general enquiries. International callers can dial +27 11 602 2093 but should consider time zone differences when contacting SARS.

Notable Branch Closures and Relocations in Gauteng

Several branch closures and relocations have taken place recently:

    • The Dube branch in Soweto closed permanently on 30 April 2021, with services continuing at the Orlando East branch and other platforms.

    Booking Appointments and Alternative Access

SARS encourages taxpayers to book appointments before visiting branches to reduce waiting times. Appointments can be made via:

    • SMS: Send “Booking” followed by your ID number to 47277.
    • SARS website: Use the “Book an Appointment” feature.
    • SARS Contact Centre: Call 0800 00 7277 during operating hours.

Virtual appointments and online services through SARS eFiling and the SARS MobiApp are increasingly promoted to improve accessibility and reduce physical visits.

    Accessibility and Facilities

Branches such as Randburg provide adequate parking, including demarcated bays for the elderly and people with disabilities. Public transport options are usually available near branches for ease of access.

Stay Ahead of the 2025 Tax Season

Gauteng taxpayers have access to a well-distributed network of SARS branches with consistent operating hours from 08:00 to 16:00 on weekdays, starting at 09:00 on Wednesdays. Despite some branch closures, alternative branches and digital channels ensure uninterrupted service. Booking appointments ahead is advisable to manage time efficiently.

For the latest branch locations, services, and booking options, taxpayers should consult the official SARS Branch Finder tool on the SARS website or contact the SARS Contact Centre.
