How To Book Restaurant Week 2026

Restaurant Week runs until 1 November 2026.

Diners can use the official Restaurant Week platform to select a city or restaurant and narrow the results according to lunch, dinner, cuisine, price and other preferences.

The Johannesburg selection can be viewed through the Restaurant Week Johannesburg restaurant listings, while Pretoria diners can browse the Restaurant Week Pretoria restaurant listings.

Some restaurants and popular dining times can become unavailable. Diners should therefore check their preferred date, time and number of guests when booking rather than assuming that every Restaurant Week menu is available at every sitting.

What This Means For Gauteng Residents

Restaurant Week gives Gauteng residents a relatively simple way to explore restaurants beyond their usual choices.

The Johannesburg and Pretoria selections cover different budgets, cuisines and dining styles. A diner could spend R235 on a 2 course Italian lunch in Pretoria, R395 on an Asian or Argentinian experience in Johannesburg, or more than R1 000 on an extended fine dining experience.

It also creates an opportunity to discover restaurants in another part of the province rather than returning to the same neighbourhood each weekend.

With the event ending on 1 November, residents still have several weeks to compare menus and find an experience that suits their budget.

    Book Before Restaurant Week Ends

With 86 Johannesburg restaurants and another 25 around Pretoria included in the current listings, Gauteng has one of the broadest selections to explore before Restaurant Week ends on 1 November.

There is also no single way to do it.

Choose a R235 lunch, book a date night, try a cuisine you have never had before or use the event as an excuse for a full tasting menu.

The important part is to check the Restaurant Week menu rather than the restaurant’s ordinary menu, compare the available dates and reserve the experience you actually want.
