The Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) will be represented at the Standard Bank Top Women EmpowHER Regional Conference in Sandton on Friday, 21 August 2026, where Executive Director Nonnie Kubeka will deliver a keynote address to entrepreneurs, business leaders and industry professionals from across South Africa. The conference, hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, forms part of a national initiative aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs through networking, mentorship and business development opportunities. Africa’s inaugural Africa Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) will take place in Gauteng from 18 to 21 August 2026, bringing together tourism leaders, investors, golf industry professionals and hospitality businesses from across the continent. Hosted at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Ekurhuleni, with the Golf and Demonstration Day taking place at Serengeti Estates, the four day convention aims to position Africa as a leading golf tourism destination while creating new trade and investment opportunities. For delegates travelling to Gauteng, the event also provides an opportunity to explore nearby accommodation, restaurants and attractions around OR Tambo International Airport.

Tourism, hospitality and visitor attraction professionals will gather in Pretoria on Thursday, 20 August 2026, for the AAVEA Gauteng Chapter Meeting. Hosted by the African Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions in partnership with the Gauteng Tourism Authority, the event will focus on industry collaboration, practical learning and networking. Open to both members and non members, the meeting will take place at the Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria and aims to support the continued growth of Gauteng’s tourism sector.
