The conversation comes as Proudly South African partners with the Gauteng Tourism Authority around the Proudly South African Local Wine Expo, connecting the buy local movement with Gauteng’s visitor economy.

The Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) is redefining destination marketing through an integrated digital ecosystem designed to inspire travel, support local businesses and simplify how visitors discover Gauteng. During the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) Gauteng Roadshow, Phumeza Tanou, Specialist: Content Management & Digital Channels at the Gauteng Tourism Authority, presented how the authority’s connected digital platforms are transforming the way residents, visitors, tourism businesses and strategic partners engage with the province. The presentation showcased how Gauteng’s official digital ecosystem is creating a seamless visitor journey, from discovering experiences to planning trips, booking events and supporting local tourism enterprises.

Tourism leaders are meeting at Emperors Palace in Gauteng on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, for the TBCSA Gauteng Roadshow, a day of discussions involving national and provincial tourism organisations. The programme brings the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, Gauteng Tourism Authority and South African Tourism together with bodies involved in funding, hospitality, tourism grading and cross-border transport. GTA CEO Mputle Dikobe and South African Tourism’s Tony Nkadimeng are among the key speakers as the sector considers issues affecting tourism businesses and Destination Gauteng.

Four Gauteng-based small businesses are showcasing the province’s creative talent at Decorex Cape Town 2026 through the Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) in partnership with the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD). The initiative gives local entrepreneurs access to one of Africa’s largest décor, design and lifestyle exhibitions, connecting them with buyers, retailers, interior designers and potential investors.
