Thousands of music fans heading to Scorpion Kings Live at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 19 September 2026, will have a dedicated Gautrain transport option to and from the Johannesburg venue. Gautrain passengers can travel by train to Park Station before using a complimentary bus service to FNB Stadium, with buses operating from 10:00 and late services scheduled after the concert.

The event, headlined by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, will bring a large amapiano audience to Nasrec, making transport planning important for concertgoers travelling across Gauteng.

Scorpion Kings Live takes over FNB Stadium

Scorpion Kings Live: A Family Affair will be held at FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on 19 September.

The event is led by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, collectively known as the Scorpion Kings.

Organisers expect about 80,000 people at the stadium. The event follows the duo’s 2025 Scorpion Kings Live show at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, which attracted more than 50,000 fans.

Gates at FNB Stadium are scheduled to open at 12:00, followed by a preshow from 14:00 to 18:00. The main show is scheduled from 18:00 until 23:30.

Attendees must be at least 14 years old, with identification required. Those under 18 should check the event conditions before travelling.

How to get to Scorpion Kings Live using Gautrain

Gautrain has outlined a dedicated transport arrangement for people travelling to FNB Stadium.

Concertgoers using the service should first take the Gautrain to Park Station in Johannesburg.

From Park Station, passengers can board a complimentary Gautrain bus travelling directly to FNB Stadium.

According to the transport information released for the event, the complimentary bus service will operate from 10:00 until 20:30.

    The recommended journey is:

    1. Take the Gautrain to Park Station.
    2. At Park Station, board the Gautrain bus to FNB Stadium.
    3. Use the complimentary bus connection to reach the concert venue.

Standard Gautrain rules and train fares still apply.

Gautrain will operate late after the concert

The transport arrangements also include extended services after Scorpion Kings Live ends.

After the concert, passengers should board a Gautrain bus at FNB Stadium for the return journey to Park Station.

The last Gautrain bus is scheduled to leave FNB Stadium at 01:30.

Once passengers arrive at Park Station, they can connect to the Gautrain for their onward journey. The last train is scheduled to depart Park Station at 02:00.

These extended operating times are important because the main Scorpion Kings performance is scheduled to end at 23:30.

Concertgoers planning to use Gautrain should still allow sufficient time to leave the stadium, reach the bus departure area and make their final train connection.

    Gautrain parking costs for concertgoers

Parking arrangements also differ depending on whether a passenger uses the Gautrain.

According to the event transport information, parking costs R10 when using the Gautrain.

No entry will be permitted after 21:30, according to the published event rules.

Why transport planning matters at FNB Stadium

FNB Stadium is one of Gauteng’s largest event venues, and major concerts can bring significant numbers of people into the Nasrec precinct within a relatively short period.

The Gautrain arrangement gives passengers travelling from other parts of Gauteng an option that combines the rail network with a direct bus connection from central Johannesburg.

It also means passengers do not need a Gautrain station at FNB Stadium itself.

Instead, Park Station acts as the interchange between the rail service and the dedicated stadium bus.

Those using the service after the concert should pay particular attention to the 01:30 final bus and 02:00 final train, as missing either service could affect their journey home.

What This Means for Gauteng Residents

For Gauteng residents attending Scorpion Kings Live, the dedicated bus service provides another transport option for reaching FNB Stadium without driving directly into Nasrec.

Passengers travelling from areas served by Gautrain can connect through Park Station before continuing to the stadium by bus.

The late return service is particularly significant because the main concert is expected to continue until 23:30, beyond normal daytime event travel.

Residents should plan the entire return journey before leaving home, including how they will travel from their final Gautrain station after the concert.

Those driving should also distinguish between Gautrain parking and event parking at FNB Stadium, as different charges apply.
