Office of the Chief Justice Vacancies Available
1. Registrar
- Reference Number: 2025/210/OCJ
- Location: Labour and Labour Appeals Court, Durban
- Salary: R324,579 – R1,111,323 per annum (MR3-MR5)
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate and an LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Experience in labour law and administration is highly preferred.
- MR3: Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in the legal profession.
- MR4: Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience in the legal profession.
- MR5: Minimum 14 years post-qualification experience in the legal profession.
Key Duties:
- Manage case flow and support to the judiciary.
- Coordinate urgent applications and facilitate the signing of court orders.
- Supervise staff and manage court record-keeping.
- Handle court-related administrative functions and audits.

2. Administration Clerk: Leases and Disposal

- Location: National Office, Midrand
- Salary: R228,321 – R268,950 per annum
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- A National Diploma in Financial Management or relevant qualification at NQF Level 6.
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
Key Duties:
- Maintain an asset register for leased assets.
- Facilitate the disposal of unserviceable or redundant assets.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts with lease registers.

3. Handyman

- Location: Labour and Labour Appeals Court, Johannesburg
- Salary: R163,680 – R192,810 per annum
Requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification (Grade 12 is an advantage).
- Experience in general building maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and basic building infrastructure.
Key Duties:
- Perform general building maintenance tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and report unauthorized equipment movement.
- Attend to minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry duties.

4. Security Officer

- Location: Free State Division of the High Court, Bloemfontein
- Salary: R163,680 – R192,810 per annum
Requirements:
- Grade 10 (Abet level 2) qualification.
- Experience in security roles, with a basic security course registered with PSIRA.
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
Key Duties:
- Perform access control and ensure the safety of the building.
- Operate control room security equipment.
- Record incidents and monitor the premises.
