The World Travel Market – WTM Africa 2023 is a leading trade show in the travel industry, attracting over 6,000 travel industry professionals.

The Gauteng Tourism Authority’s participation at the World Travel Market Africa 2023 is a great opportunity to showcase the destination as a hub for sports and Amapiano music to both local and international audiences. By highlighting these unique offerings, the GTA can attract new visitors and increase tourism revenue for the province.

Participating in this global leading trade show will present new opportunities for the Gauteng Tourism Authority to connect with travel industry professionals and potential customers from inbound and outbound African travel and tourism markets

Overall, the GTA’s participation in the World Travel Market Africa 2023 demonstrates its commitment to promoting Gauteng as a must-visit destination for business and leisure travellers alike. By taking advantage of opportunities like this trade show, the GTA can continue to grow the tourism industry and contribute to the economic development of the province.

Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) are an important part of the economy and providing them with opportunities to showcase their offerings can help them reach a wider audience and grow their businesses. The GTA will be taking five SMMEs from five of the Gauteng Regions, to showcase their offering during the trade show. The aim is to showcase SMMEs offerings, and afford them an opportunity to attend networking events, and using social media platforms to promote their products and services.


Gauteng Tourism broadly carries a dual mandate: on the one hand to position Gauteng as a globally desired destination through its marketing and promotion efforts and on the other, to manage Gauteng as a globally competitive destination through ensuring that it is a value – for – money destination and ensuring that it develops products that respond to tourist demands.
