She pursued higher education at the University of Johannesburg. There, she earned a degree in communications with a focus on journalism and politics in 2008. This grounding set the stage for a career dedicated to informing and educating the South African public.

Career Beginnings and Rise to Prominence

Madia began her professional journey at Primedia Broadcasting, initially assisting at the EWN traffic desk. Her tenacity and talent quickly catapulted her career forward. She was part of the founding team at Power FM, where she served as a reporter and presenter. Tshidi Madia’s strong political insight later led her to News24, where she significantly contributed to the political reporting team.

Returning to EWN as a senior political reporter, her dedication and skill earned her the role of Associate Editor: Politics. Tshidi Madia became a trusted and familiar voice to millions across South Africa on platforms including 702, Cape Talk, 947, and various online channels.

    A Trailblazer in Political Journalism

Tshidi was widely admired for her fearless journalism and her commitment to the highest standards of professionalism. Notably, she was the only journalist to secure a one-on-one interview with President Cyril Ramaphosa ahead of the pivotal 2024 elections. This exclusive underscored her standing in the newsroom and the political arena.

Her relentless efforts to secure an interview with former President Jacob Zuma, travelling to his Nkandla homestead, reflected her fearless pursuit of important stories. This determination brought tough political narratives to the forefront with fairness and clarity.
