The Department of Economic Development offers this opportunity to help you gain practical experience in your field of study and provide exposure to the functioning of the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

This internship aims to provide the selected candidate with hands-on experience in the Shared Auxiliary Services Directorate. Responsibilities include:

  • Exposure to Various Aspects of Environmental Health and Safety Management.
  • Professional Development: Working with experienced professionals and gaining insights into public sector functions.
  • Skill Building: Developing a wide range of practical skills that will increase your employability.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Environmental Health and Safety Management initiatives.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations related to health and safety within the department.
  • Conduct research and analysis to help improve existing practices.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, candidates need to meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • A National Diploma (NQF 6) or B Degree (NQF 7) in Environmental Health or Safety Management is essential.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • A completed Z83 application form (can be obtained from any Public Service Department).
    • Comprehensive CV detailing your academic achievements and work experience.
    • Certified copies of academic qualifications (including your Matric Certificate) and academic records.
    • A certified copy of your identity document.
    • Ensure all documentation is certified, as failure to provide certified copies will disqualify your application.
