Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse: Theatre Scrubs at Clinix Health Group, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality patient care. Your duties will include assisting in the theatre, maintaining a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures, and supporting the surgical team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

The Registered Nurse will deliver care in line with industry standards and the South African Nursing Council (SANC) regulations. You will also ensure that all nursing duties align with the SANC’s Scope of Practice, which is crucial for delivering optimal care to patients. Key Responsibilities

As a Theatre Scrubs Nurse, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Adhere to Standards: Ensure that nursing duties comply with SANC, Department of Health (DOH), and National Core Standards.
  2. Patient Advocacy: Follow the principles of patient advocacy in line with SANC Acts, the Company Code of Conduct, and the Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter.
  3. Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise the quality of care within the theatre team. You will oversee the work of other nurses, ensuring they adhere to therapeutic standards and goals.
  4. Auditing and Compliance: Participate in internal and external audits, including SANC, DOH, National Core Standards, SHERQ, and Risk Audits. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medication logs, care plans, and progress notes.
  6. Ward Rounds: Accompany doctors and other medical practitioners during ward rounds to assess and evaluate patient care plans.
  7. Monitor Nurses: Regularly monitor the activities of nursing staff to ensure compliance with protocols, patient safety standards, and organisational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Nursing Qualification: A degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognised institution.
  • Post Basic Qualification: A post-basic qualification in Theatre Operating Technique is an advantage.
  • South African Nursing Council Registration: You must be currently registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • BLS Qualification: A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in Theatre Scrubs is essential to be considered for this position.

Additional Requirements

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills will be advantageous:
