Struggling with Memory Loss

In a recent post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Prince Kaybee real name Kabelo Motsamai disclosed his battle with what he described as “serious amnesia.” The tweet, posted on Sunday, June 2, read:

“I suffer from serious amnesia and I am a bit emotional and frustrated at how my memory is deteriorating.”

He went on to express his emotional distress over the issue, admitting that he feels overwhelmed and worried about the consequences it might have on both his personal and professional life. The 35-year-old shared that he has consulted medical professionals, who told him the symptoms could be related to a brain condition though nothing has been confirmed yet.

“It Makes Me Feel Incompetent”

Prince Kaybee revealed that the memory issues have deeply affected his self-confidence.

“This scares me because I might lose out on life opportunities just because I forgot,” he wrote. “It makes me feel incompetent, and I hate that feeling.”

He emphasized the mental toll this uncertainty is taking on him. As someone responsible for raising multiple children, the pressure to stay focused and mentally alert weighs heavily. He added:

“Not gonna lie, this is rocking me, man. I have kids to raise.”

The hitmaker has previously revealed he is a father of 14 children, making his fears around memory loss even more pressing. With responsibilities spanning across both music and family, his emotional honesty struck a chord with many fans and followers.

Mental Health: An Ongoing Conversation

This is not the first time Prince Kaybee has spoken openly about mental health. Back in 2021, he revealed he had been battling stress and anxiety, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. His candidness then, as now, served as a reminder that mental health struggles can affect anyone, regardless of fame or success.

During Men’s Mental Health Month in November 2023, Kaybee encouraged other men to speak up and seek help when struggling. In one of his posts, he wrote:

“STAND FEARLESSLY for the truth, focus on the good things that keep you healthy and EVERYTHING else is just noise.”

This consistent advocacy for mental wellness continues to position Prince Kaybee as a voice for emotional resilience in an industry that often discourages vulnerability.

Fans React with Support

Following his post, Prince Kaybee received a wave of supportive messages. Many fans applauded his bravery for going public with his condition. Others shared their own experiences with memory issues or mental health, creating a compassionate and understanding space on social media.

The DJ’s vulnerability has brought attention not just to the pressures of fame but to the universal struggle of coping with unexplained health concerns particularly those that affect the brain and emotional wellbeing.

Prince Kaybee’s health revelation is more than just a celebrity headline; it’s a wake-up call. His openness about suffering from amnesia encourages conversations around neurological health and mental wellness in the public sphere. As fans and peers continue to show support, his story serves as a powerful reminder that asking for help is a sign of strength not weakness.

If you or someone you know is struggling with memory loss or mental health issues, seek professional help. Mental wellness matters.
