Justice Sithole Backs Kaizer Chiefs Revival: “They Have All the Ingredients”

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Justice Sithole is optimistic about the club’s future, saying the Glamour Boys have what it takes to return to their glory days.

Despite missing out on the MTN8 due to finishing outside the top eight for a second consecutive season, Sithole believes there’s a shift happening at Naturena. He points to last season’s Nedbank Cup victory as a potential turning point for the Soweto giants.

A Crucial First Step: Nedbank Cup Triumph

The 44-year-old, who represented Chiefs during the early 2000s when the club was a dominant force in local football, stressed the importance of finally securing silverware after a long drought.

“Things have changed a lot from back in the day to now, but it’s a good thing that they managed to turn the tables by winning the Nedbank Cup last season,” Sithole told FARPost.

That long-awaited trophy was Chiefs’ first in over a decade, and Sithole believes it can serve as the foundation for a more successful era.

New Signings Signal Intent

Sithole also praised the club’s recent transfer activity, highlighting the arrival of players such as Ethan Chislett, Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva, Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, and Siphesihle Ndlovu. According to him, these reinforcements could help Amakhosi close the gap on Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates and perennial champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

“You need to have quality players who understand the team if you really want to compete for major trophies,” he explained.

Nasreddine Nabi: Settled and Supported

Another key factor in Chiefs’ potential resurgence is head coach Nasreddine Nabi, now in his second season at the helm. With more time to implement his philosophy and a clearer understanding of the local football environment, Sithole believes Nabi is now well-equipped to lead the club forward.

“He has all the ingredients he needs to start cooking,” Sithole said, using a metaphor that suggests Chiefs now have the right mix of players, coaching, and momentum.

Outlook for the Season

While Amakhosi still have much to prove, the combination of a long-awaited trophy, fresh signings, and a more settled coaching setup could signal the start of something special.

For Justice Sithole, the signs are clear: “Chiefs can take it from here and move forward.”

With renewed confidence, a trophy in hand, and a bolstered squad, Kaizer Chiefs appear poised to launch a serious challenge this season. According to Sithole, the ingredients are all there now it’s time to start cooking.
