SACR is inviting applications for several Club Development Coordinator and Active Recreation Coordinator positions. These are three-year contract roles based in various corridors across Gauteng. Candidates will be responsible for supporting and administering sport and recreation programmes designed to foster community development and participation.

1. Club Development Coordinator Positions

  • Number of Posts: 11 total
  • Contract Duration: 3 years
  • Stipend: R7,900 per month

    2. Central Corridor (Johannesburg) – 2 posts
    3. North Corridor (Pretoria) – 2 posts

    6. Head Office (Johannesburg) – 1 post

2. Active Recreation Coordinator Positions

  • Number of Posts: 7 total
  • Contract Duration: 3 years
  • Stipend: R7,900 per month
  • Key Locations:
    1. East Corridor (Nigel, Germiston, Daveyton) – 2 posts
    2. West Corridor (Bekkersdal, Waterwork) – 2 posts
    3. South Corridor (Evaton, Sicelo) – 2 posts
    4. Head Office (Johannesburg) – 1 post

Requirements for Applicants

Applicants must meet specific minimum qualifications and skills to be considered for these roles:

  1. Minimum Education: Grade 12 Certificate.
  2. Additional Qualification: At least a 1-year certificate in Sport Management or a related field for Club Development Coordinators. For Active Recreation Coordinators, a tertiary qualification in Recreation Management, Administration, or as a Recreation Leader is preferred.
  3. Experience: Demonstrable experience or expertise within the sports or recreation environment.
  4. Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal relations and communication abilities (both verbal and written).
    • Project management and coordination capabilities.
    • Effective negotiation and conflict management skills.
    • Planning, organization, and problem-solving proficiency.
    • Computer literacy, including data collection and report writing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The roles demand active participation in supporting SACR’s various programmes. These include:

  • Club Development Coordinators:
    • Administering the Club Development Conditional Grant Program.
    • Providing administrative and logistical support to club development initiatives.
    • Facilitating and recording information, maintaining listings, and compiling monthly reports.
    • Assisting with programme implementation and ensuring all files and expenditure reports are submitted on time to the Grant office.
  • Active Recreation Coordinators:
    • Supporting the Recreation Program and Recreation Commission.
    • Providing administrative and logistical support.
    • Facilitating and recording provincial program implementation data, including procurement and budget expenditure.
    • Compiling and submitting monthly statistics and reports on program progress.
