Clinical Nurse Practitioner Vacancy at the Gauteng Department of Health

The Gauteng Department of Health is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals for the position of Clinical Nurse Practitioner (PHC) Grade 1. Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for this Clinical Nurse Practitioner vacancy, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Basic Qualification: A nursing qualification accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of Government Notice R425. This includes a Diploma or Degree in Nursing as a Professional Nurse.
  • Post-Basic Qualification: A qualification of at least one year accredited with the SANC as per Government Notice R48 in the relevant specialty, such as Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment, and Care.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of appropriate nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Practitioner, your duties will involve the following:

  • Holistic Specialized Care: Providing optimal nursing/clinical care according to established standards and within a professional and legal framework.
  • Resource Utilization: Effectively utilizing human, material, and service resources.
  • Training & Research: Actively participating in training and research activities to contribute to the development of the nursing profession.
  • Professional Growth: Maintaining ethical standards and promoting the development of both yourself and your team.
  • Leadership: Leading and organizing your work, making decisions regarding patient care, and ensuring the quality of nursing care as prescribed by core standards.
