    Johannesburg will see clear skies and temperatures between 10°C and 18°C on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, as dry winter conditions settle across much of the interior. The national weather pattern remains stable, with clear conditions dominating Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the North West, while cloud cover increases across the Free State, Western Cape and coastal regions. The national average temperature stands at 17°C.

    Gauteng

    Johannesburg will experience clear skies with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 18°C. Pretoria will see similar conditions, with light south-southwesterly winds at 8 km/h. Humidity remains moderate at 48%, and pressure is steady at 1023 hPa. Expect a chilly start to the day with sunshine dominating through the afternoon.

    Limpopo

    Polokwane will see clear conditions with temperatures between 9°C and 21°C. South-southwesterly winds will reach 9 km/h, while humidity sits at 56%. The province will enjoy full sunshine throughout the day, though mornings will start cold in low-lying areas.

    Mpumalanga

    Mbombela will record the country’s highest temperatures today, climbing from 14°C to 28°C under clear skies. Light south-southwesterly winds at 3 km/h and humidity of 46% will make for comfortable afternoon conditions. The Lowveld region will be noticeably warmer than the Highveld.

    North West

    Mahikeng will see clear skies with temperatures ranging from 9°C to 20°C. West-northwesterly winds at 4 km/h will remain light, and humidity will sit at 58%. Expect a crisp morning followed by pleasant daytime warmth across the province.

    Free State

    Bloemfontein will experience broken cloud cover with temperatures between 7°C and 19°C. Northwesterly winds at 7 km/h will accompany the cloudier conditions, while humidity reaches 53%. The Free State will see the coolest morning temperatures in the country, particularly in elevated areas.

    KwaZulu-Natal

    Durban will enjoy clear skies with temperatures from 17°C to 24°C. Northeasterly winds at 11 km/h will bring coastal breezes, and humidity will remain at 54%. The coastal city will experience mild winter conditions with comfortable daytime warmth.

    Northern Cape

    Kimberley will see broken clouds with temperatures ranging from 13°C to 21°C. Northerly winds will be the strongest in the interior, reaching 17 km/h. Humidity remains lower at 44%, with variable cloud cover expected throughout the day.

    Eastern Cape

    Gqeberha will experience broken cloud cover and temperatures between 17°C and 19°C. West-southwesterly winds will be the strongest in the country today at 26 km/h, with high humidity of 84%. Coastal areas should brace for blustery conditions, particularly during the afternoon.

    Western Cape

    Cape Town will see broken clouds with temperatures from 14°C to 18°C. South-southeasterly winds at 14 km/h and humidity of 80% will create typical winter coastal conditions. Cloud cover will persist through much of the day, with intermittent sunny breaks possible.

    Weekend Outlook

    Johannesburg will see increasing cloud cover on Wednesday with temperatures between 11°C and 17°C, followed by light rain on Thursday as temperatures drop to between 10°C and 15°C. Friday will bring a sharp cold front, with morning temperatures falling to just 5°C before recovering to 13°C. Saturday offers a recovery with temperatures ranging from 7°C to 15°C under partly cloudy skies. Residents should prepare for a colder end to the week and pack rain gear for Thursday.
