South Africa is set to witness a day of celebration, as the Springboks’ Trophy Tour takes to the streets of Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Soweto on the 2nd of November 2023. Fans from across the country are expected to flock to the iconic routes, as the triumphant Springboks showcase their hard-earned trophy and celebrate their recent victory.

Springboks’ Trophy Tour: A Trip Through Pretoria Before Lunchtime

Starting the day in Pretoria, the parade will commence at 09:30, moving along an eastward route down Stanza Bopape Street, before turning into End Street, and then into Pretorius Street. The Springboks’ trophy tour will then pass through several iconic streets, including Gordon Street, Jan Shoba Street, and Park Street. An exciting highlight of the parade will be the journey past Loftus Versfeld via Kirkness Street. The Springboks will then circle Church Square via Paul Kruger Street and Madiba Street. After a brief stop at Tshwane House for a visit with the mayor, the players will transfer to a closed bus heading to MTN for a lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00.

Springboks’ Trophy Tour: A Parade Through Johannesburg in the Afternoon

The parade will kick off at 14:00 in Johannesburg, starting at 1 Jan Smuts Avenue in Braamfontein. The route will take the team across the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge and onto FNB Bank City on Simmonds Street. Fans can expect a speech from the Springbok Bus Roof by the FNB CEO. The parade will then move through several key streets, including Commissioner Street, Nasrec Road, and Chris Hani Street, passing landmarks like the Joburg Expo Centre and Maponya Mall. The parade will also pay homage to the Hector Pieterson Memorial in Soweto before concluding its journey at the FNB Stadium.

To ensure the safety and smooth progression of the parade, the convoy will consist of 3 buses, 2 sponsor vehicles, a Supersport OB Unit, and an ambulance.

The 2nd of November is set to be a historic day for South African rugby, as the country unites to celebrate the Springboks’ victory. With meticulously planned routes through Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Soweto, supporters from all over the country will have the opportunity to join in the festivities and cheer for their champions.
