About Meetings Africa

Meetings Africa 2024, hosted by South African Tourism, is set to celebrate its 18th year as the leading Business Events Trade Show. This event, taking place from 27th to 28th February 2024 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, is dedicated to providing a market access platform for African Business Events Products. Over the course of two days, with an additional BONDay on the 26th February, Meetings Africa offers a unique opportunity for exhibitors to present their services to an audience of international and local buyers, African associations, and corporate planners.

The trade show is organized in collaboration with key global, continental, and national industry associations, and includes a specially dedicated Educational Day aimed at fostering the growth of the business events industry on the continent. Meetings Africa is not just a trade show; it’s a critical platform for facilitating face-to-face interactions with the world’s most influential buyers and playing a significant role in the economic development of Africa’s business events sector.

As the entry point to Africa, Gauteng significantly contributes to the event’s success, leveraging its world-class venues, infrastructure, and the Gauteng Convention & Events Bureau’s support services. These include bid assistance, sourcing venues and accommodations, and providing local promotional support, ensuring Meetings Africa’s position as the continent’s most formidable platform for business events growth.

A first of its kind internationally Freedom Park offers its visitors a unique and exceptional opportunity to experience and appreciate our history, to walk where our ancestors have walked and to learn from our shared heritage as brothers and sisters of the diverse nation of South Africa.

In the mind’s eye Freedom Park brings back to life ancient warriors that roamed the planes of Southern Africa – it recalls to memory the thousands of men and women bearing the yoke of slavery and of a people and a culture so nearly de-stroyed by genocide. Above all it showcases a nation that does not shrink from even the greatest sacrifice to achieve the extraordinary.

There is perhaps no area in Johannesburg that offers the variety of venues as those offered by Constitution Hill. Ours is a precinct premised on unusual spaces, from small former cells where bars yet remain on the windows, to large open areas with the capacity to accommodate hundreds of people.

Of course, much of the space has been refurbished, making it welcoming for every type of corporate event, from private meetings to larger conferences, as well as private events, and from small, intimate dinners to large parties that are open to the public. We also house temporary and permanent exhibitions in the Old Fort, the Women’s Jail and Number Four which are open to our visitors.
