South Africa will commemorate Heritage Month from 1 to 30 September 2026 under the official theme “Reimagine our heritage institutions for a new era.” The annual campaign encourages South Africans to celebrate the country’s diverse cultures, languages, traditions and shared history while recognising the role heritage institutions play in preserving the nation’s identity.
