Requirements

The position is open to individuals who meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:

  • Grade 1: No experience required after registration as a Medical Practitioner with HPCSA (for South African qualified applicants).
  • Grade 2: At least 5 years of experience after registration with HPCSA.
  • Grade 3: At least 10 years of experience as a Medical Practitioner after HPCSA registration.

Additionally, candidates must:

  • Hold an appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Provide proof of current HPCSA registration as an independent medical practitioner.
  • Be able to manage clinical care for Plastic Surgery and Burns patients, covering various duties within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Officer in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating clinical care and treatment for Plastic Surgery and Burns patients.
  • Providing services in the Outpatient Department (OPD), Ward, Theatre, and outreach programs.
  • Overseeing the treatment and management of complex plastic surgery cases, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students while supporting their academic growth and professional development.
  • Fulfilling HPCSA requirements related to continuing medical education and professional development.
