Boilermaker/Welder Position Overview

Rand Water is seeking a qualified and experienced Boilermaker/Welder to service, maintain, overhaul, and repair mechanical plant and equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing scheduled inspections to ensure plant availability and optimal performance. Primary Duties

As a Boilermaker/Welder at Rand Water, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

1. Daily Maintenance: You will be required to perform daily maintenance checks and repairs on both electrical and auxiliary plant equipment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 or Equivalent (N3 Certificate): A basic educational qualification is essential to ensure understanding of technical processes.
• Trade Test Certificate: Proof of completing your boilermaking or welding apprenticeship through a recognized trade test.
• Post-apprenticeship Experience: At least 4 years of hands-on experience post-apprenticeship in the field.
• Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence: A valid driver’s license is required, and applicants must also pass Rand Water’s K53 test to be eligible.
