    The positions available are for EPWP General Workers, and the vacancies are spread across various locations within the Emakhazeni region. The total number of positions available are:

    • Emakhazeni: 25 positions
    • Entokozweni: 20 positions
    • Emgwenya: 10 positions
    • Dullstroom: 10 positions

    Each location will require candidates to perform specific tasks contributing to the municipal services.

    Duration of Employment

    Salary

    The salary for the position is R130.00 per day, which offers a competitive daily rate for the work involved.     • Proof of residence from the Emakhazeni Municipality is required with the application to verify that applicants are from the designated areas.
    • Certified ID copy should be submitted.
    • Grade 12 (Matric) will be an added advantage, but it is not mandatory.

    This means that local residents are given priority, ensuring that the programme targets those who will benefit most from the opportunities created by the municipality.

    The selected candidates will be responsible for several tasks related to municipal services and maintenance. Some of the key duties include:

    • Street cleaning to maintain the cleanliness of public roads and streets.
    • Litter picking to keep the environment clean and free of waste.
    • Illegal dumping clean-up to ensure that public spaces are free of illegal waste deposits.
    • Tree planting to contribute to the beautification and environmental sustainability of the area.
    • Execution of all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure smooth running of daily operations.
    • Assisting customers and the public in waste disposal facilities and municipal services.
    • Cleaning parks, cemeteries, libraries, sports centers, and other municipal facilities to ensure they are maintained properly for community use.
    • Performing any additional Ad Hoc tasks as required by the management and supervisors from time to time.

    This diverse range of tasks allows workers to contribute directly to the betterment of their community while learning important skills in public works and municipal operations.
