The Modderfontein Reserve is a 265ha Privately owned Regional Open Space area situated in Modderfontein, Gauteng that is managed by the Greater Modderfontein Property Umbrellas association on behalf of its members.
The Modderfontein Reserve boasts amazing birdlife and various bird hides have been placed for bird watchers to enjoy the view. Various small mammals and other fauna can be found at the Modderfontein Reserve.
A great deal of rehabilitation work is being done on the Reserve, including alien vegetation removal, planting of indigenous trees and erosion control under the auspice of The Endangered Wildlife Trust.
The Modderfontein Reserve offers cycling, hiking, running and has a picnic and fishing area that can be visited by the public.
