South African Pharmacy Council Internship Opportunities

The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) is offering a range of exciting internship opportunities for young professionals interested in gaining valuable experience in various fields of finance, supply chain management, and information technology. Available Internship Positions

The SAPC has opened applications for four distinct internship positions across different divisions:

1. Revenue Accounts Intern

The Revenue Accounts Intern position is part of the SAPC’s financial division, focusing on the management of client invoicing and debtor reconciliations. Ideal candidates should have a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with client invoicing and accounts reconciliation.
  • Help collect outstanding debts and manage cash book capturing.
  • Respond to client inquiries to promote the image of the Council.
  • Report to the Debtors Controller on Key Performance Areas (KPAs).

This role is suited to individuals with strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

2. Financial Accounting Intern

The Financial Accounting Intern position involves supporting the SAPC’s accounting department, focusing on supplier invoice processing and corporate credit card expenditure. Candidates with a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with processing supplier invoices and claims into the accounting system.
  • Help with the reconciliation of accounts payable against supplier statements.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries and support the Financial Controller in the management of accounts.

This role requires analytical thinking, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and attention to detail in all financial operations.

3. Supply Chain Management Intern

For those with a background in logistics or supply chain management, the Supply Chain Management Intern position provides an opportunity to assist with sourcing quotations, purchase orders, stock management, and supplier invoice receipting. Ideal candidates should have an Advanced Program in Supply Chain Management or a National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source quotations and prepare purchase orders.
  • Help with stock receipt, issue, and inventory management.
  • Conduct weekly stock audits and assist with physical asset verification.

The role also requires assisting with the tagging and labelling of assets, with a focus on maintaining organized records and ensuring smooth stock operations.

4. Information Technology Intern

The Information Technology Intern position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related qualification to gain experience in IT support, hardware/software maintenance, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot IT issues.
  • Support the monitoring and management of IT infrastructure, including servers and network systems.
  • Assist with the configuration and user management of Microsoft 365 services.

Candidates should possess problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of IT systems, and a passion for technology.
