Introducing Shop Proudly SA and Market Access Platform

The launch includes two key e-commerce platforms:

  • Shop Proudly SA: A business-to-consumer (B2C) online store where customers can browse and buy a wide variety of local products, including food, clothing, beauty items, and homeware.
  • Market Access Platform (MAP): A business-to-business (B2B) portal that connects large corporations and procurement officers with verified South African suppliers.

Both platforms were launched on July 1, 2025, and already feature over 1,700 locally made products across various sectors. These platforms are designed to simplify access to local goods, helping consumers and businesses meet localisation targets and supporting job creation.

Why the New Online Store Matters

The Proudly SA online store addresses challenges faced by local entrepreneurs, such as limited market access and competition from cheap imports. By centralising South African products in one place, the platform increases visibility for SMMEs and builds consumer trust.

DTIC Minister Parks Tau highlighted that the platforms will help local manufacturers reclaim market share lost to imports, while Proudly SA CEO Eustace Mashimbye emphasized their role in reducing small business failure rates by offering a trusted national platform.
