Proteas Victory Tour: Test Final Winners to Meet Fans in Sandton

The newly crowned ICC World Test Championship winners, the Proteas, are set to return home to a hero’s welcome. A special meet-and-greet celebration is planned in Sandton to mark their historic achievement.

Official Welcome at OR Tambo International Airport

The team is set to arrive at OR Tambo International Airport on Wednesday, 18 June, at 09:25. There, they will be welcomed by Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Mr Gayton McKenzie. Alongside him will be a delegation of dignitaries, fans, and media. The public is encouraged to join the festivities and show their appreciation for the team’s triumph over cricket’s toughest opposition.

Later that afternoon, from 12:30 to 14:30, the Proteas will address the media at a press briefing. It will be held at 86 5th Street, Corner of 5th & Glenhove Streets, Melrose Estate, Johannesburg. Team management, players, and CSA officials are expected to reflect on the final. They will outline the road ahead for the Test squad.
