According to KickOff, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Pirates are preparing to offload Gilberto permanently once his current loan expires. Despite flashes of promise, he has struggled to cement a place in the starting XI since arriving at Mayfair.

Saleng Set for Orbit College Reunion

Meanwhile, fan-favourite Monnapule Saleng is also set to depart, at least temporarily. SABC Sport reports that Pirates are in advanced negotiations to send the winger on loan to newly promoted Betway Premiership side Orbit College.

The move would see Saleng reunite with his former club. This club has just secured top-flight status after winning the promotion playoffs. Sources from Bloemhof indicate that the 2021/22 top performer is eager for regular playing time. This is something he hasn’t consistently enjoyed at Pirates in recent months.
