Orlando Pirates Confirm Appointment of Former SuperSport United Coach

Orlando Pirates have officially welcomed former SuperSport United reserves coach Roscoe Krieling into their technical team. This adds fresh expertise to their development structures as preparations for the new season intensify. Krieling, who played a crucial role in nurturing top young talent at SuperSport, confirmed the move himself via social media.

Roscoe Krieling Embraces New Challenge

Taking to his platforms to express his enthusiasm, Krieling stated,

“I’m proud to officially announce that I’ve joined Orlando Pirates Football Club. It’s a privilege to be part of such an iconic institution in South African football, and I’m fully committed to contribute to the club’s continued success. Exciting times ahead — let’s get to work!”

Krieling’s appointment comes at a significant moment. This follows SuperSport United’s surprising decision to sell their DStv Diski Challenge (PSL Reserve League) status to newly formed Siwelele FC. With the Matsatsantsa academy undergoing changes, the timing was right for Krieling to embrace a new chapter in his coaching career.

Proven Track Record with Rising Stars

Highly regarded for his ability to groom talented youngsters, Krieling was instrumental in the development of current rising stars such as Thapelo Maseko and Shandre Campbell. Both players progressed through SuperSport’s academy under his guidance. They have since made waves in the senior ranks.

The Buccaneers are expected to tap into this expertise as they look to strengthen their youth system. Furthermore, they aim to create a stronger pipeline to the first team. His addition is likely to play a crucial role in maintaining the club’s tradition of unearthing and polishing future stars.

Replacing a Familiar Face

Krieling steps into a role previously held by Simon Marange, who recently announced his departure from the Soweto giants. This follows an impressive seven-year spell in the club’s development structures. Marange, who has worked closely with several promising talents during his tenure, confirmed his exit with an emotional message shared on social media.

“Seven years, incredible teams, unbelievable talents, obsessed staff. Thank you for giving me a platform to chase my dreams,” wrote Marange. “Forever in my heart, Orlando Pirates. Thank you, management, for the faith, support and lessons learnt. Thank you to everyone who took this journey with me. Till next time.”

His departure leaves big shoes to fill. However, Pirates appear confident that Krieling has the right blend of experience and vision to pick up where Marange left off.

A Strategic Appointment in a Key Period

The appointment of Krieling also signals a clear statement of intent from Orlando Pirates. They continue to strengthen their technical and backroom structures with precision. As youth development becomes increasingly vital in local football, having someone with a proven record in shaping raw talent is a strategic boost for the Soweto club.

Krieling’s alignment with Pirates’ philosophy makes him an ideal fit. His understanding of the local football landscape also contributes. Supporters will be eager to see the long-term impact of this move. The Buccaneers aim to reinforce their academy and stay ahead in the race to produce the country’s next footballing stars.

All Eyes on the Future

As pre-season preparations gain momentum across the league, the Buccaneers’ backroom shake-up continues to attract attention. With Roscoe Krieling now part of the fold, hopes are high. The club’s youth production line is expected to keep delivering. This sets the foundation for future success both on and off the pitch.
