Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro was the undisputed star of the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards. He won a remarkable four major accolades after a standout campaign.
Ribeiro’s incredible season, filled with goals, flair, and consistency, was rewarded with the most prestigious honor, PSL Footballer of the Season. The Brazilian forward’s clinical finishing and game-changing performances also earned him the Betway Premiership Players’ Player of the Season. Moreover, he won Goal of the Season and Top Goal Scorer awards, cementing his status as the most dominant player in South African football this season.

While Ribeiro stole the headlines, Orlando Pirates’ teenage sensation Relebohile Mofokeng enjoyed a night to remember as well. The talented youngster claimed Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season and MTN8 Last Man Standing. In the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Muzomuhle Khanyi of Hungry Lions shone brightest. He won both the Players’ Player of the Season and Top Goal Scorer accolades. Additionally, Teboho Lekhatla of Casric Stars was named Young Player of the Season. Dumsani Msibi of Durban City took home Goalkeeper of the Season.
The DStv Diski Challenge awards also celebrated emerging talent. Stellenbosch FC’s Tylon Smith claimed the Player of the Season award, while Orlando Pirates’ Siphamandla Msezane secured the Top Goal Scorer honour.

Match officials also received recognition. The league awarded Kgara Mokoena the Assistant Referee of the Season, while Masixole Bambiso earned the Referee of the Season honour for their professionalism and consistency.
