Key Responsibilities

Planning, Organising, and Implementation One of the primary responsibilities of the Junior Graphic Designer will be to support the smooth operation of the design department by planning, organising, and implementing various design procedures. These procedures will be outlined by the manager, and the designer will need to follow through with the tasks as instructed, ensuring that timelines and quality standards are met.
Collaborating with the Sales Department In addition to design-related tasks, the Junior Graphic Designer will be required to collaborate closely with the sales department. This includes prioritising tasks based on lead times and communicating any operational requirements or issues to the manager. By working together with the sales team, the designer will ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet client expectations.
Liaising with Manager Regular communication with the manager will be essential. The designer will need to inform the manager of any challenges faced during the design process and work towards finding effective solutions. Additionally, the designer will be responsible for tracking and managing overtime, ensuring that it is authorised by management before being recorded.
Document Management and Scanning A part of the designer’s role will involve scanning relevant documents and sending them to the appropriate individuals. This may include scanned versions of designs, proofs, and other materials related to client projects.
Photography and Redrawing Logos The Junior Graphic Designer will also have the opportunity to learn photography as part of their role. Additionally, they will be required to accurately redraw logos, clothing designs, and bag layouts, ensuring that all elements are faithful to the original and meet the company’s high standards of quality.
Recreating Electronic Designs Another key responsibility involves recreating electronic versions of designs created by the design department. This ensures that digital assets are available for further use in branding and marketing efforts.

Additionally, they will create proofs according to the brief provided, sending these to the relevant representatives and assistants for review and feedback. Client Approval and Artwork Submission Once the design proof is finalised and approved, the Junior Graphic Designer will forward the artwork to the relevant supplier for branding purposes. This includes creating positives or negatives for the branding supplier to work from, ensuring that all requirements are met and the designs are executed with precision.
