DHET Graduate Internships & Work Integrated Learning Programmes

If you are a South African graduate or N6/WIL student looking for work experience, the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is offering Graduate Internships & Work Integrated Learning Programmes for the 2025/2026 to 2026/2027 financial years.
This opportunity gives young people a chance to gain practical work experience, earn a monthly stipend, and increase their chances of finding full-time employment in the future.
About the Programme
- Duration: 24 months (fixed contract)
- Closing Date: 12 September 2025
- Purpose: To give unemployed graduates and N6/WIL students workplace exposure in their chosen fields of study
- Stipend:
- Graduate Interns: R7 860.40 per month
- WIL (N6) students: R6 659.40 per month
Requirements
- South African citizens
- Must be unemployed
- Must not have taken part in a government internship before
- Must meet the qualification requirements for the post

- Add two references (lecturers, mentors, or supervisors).
