DHET Graduate Internships & Work Integrated Learning Programmes

If you are a South African graduate or N6/WIL student looking for work experience, the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is offering Graduate Internships & Work Integrated Learning Programmes for the 2025/2026 to 2026/2027 financial years.

This opportunity gives young people a chance to gain practical work experience, earn a monthly stipend, and increase their chances of finding full-time employment in the future.

About the Programme

• Duration: 24 months (fixed contract)
• Closing Date: 12 September 2025
• Purpose: To give unemployed graduates and N6/WIL students workplace exposure in their chosen fields of study
• Stipend:
  • Graduate Interns: R7 860.40 per month
  • WIL (N6) students: R6 659.40 per month

Requirements

• South African citizens
• Must be unemployed
• Must not have taken part in a government internship before
• Must meet the qualification requirements for the post

1. Write the post title, ref number, and DHET at the top.
2. Complete all personal details correctly (names, ID, contact info).
3. Tick your language skills.
4. List your qualifications (start with your highest).
5. List any work experience (if none, write “None – graduate applicant”).
6. Add two references (lecturers, mentors, or supervisors).
7. Sign and date the form.
8. Attach your CV.
