The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) is actively seeking qualified professionals to fill five pivotal senior management positions. These roles are integral to advancing South Africa’s digital transformation and enhancing communication services nationwide. 1. Deputy Director-General: Administration (Ref No: DDGA)

  • Location: Pretoria, Hatfield
  • Salary: R1,741,770 per annum (Level 15, all-inclusive package)
  • Qualifications: An undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Public Administration, Social Services, MBA, Strategic Management, Operations Management, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years at a senior managerial level. Completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme is mandatory.
  • Key Responsibilities: Oversee corporate support services which include: human capital management, legal services, communication strategies, digital solutions, financial management, and facilities management.​

2. Deputy Director-General: Media and Content (Ref No: DDGMC)

  • Location: Pretoria, Hatfield
  • Salary: R1,741,770 per annum (Level 15, all-inclusive package)
  • Qualifications: An undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Engineering, Technology, Media Management, International Relations, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years at a senior managerial level. Completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme is mandatory.
  • Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of policies and strategies for the media and content sector, oversee public service media, ensure content classification and online safety, and provide oversight for related entities.​

3. Deputy Director-General: Digital Infrastructure and Technologies (Ref No: DDGIT)

  • Location: Pretoria, Hatfield
  • Salary: R1,741,770 per annum (Level 15, all-inclusive package)
  • Qualifications: An undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Engineering, Technology, Economics, Commerce, or a related field. An MBA/MBL or related postgraduate business management qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years at a senior managerial level. Completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme is mandatory.
  • Key Responsibilities: Drive the development and implementation of digital infrastructure and technology programs, oversee cybersecurity and internet governance services, and manage entity oversight to ensure performance and sustainability.​

4. Director: IT Business Solutions (Ref No: DIRITIBS)

  • Location: Pretoria, Hatfield
  • Salary: R1,216,824 per annum (Level 13, all-inclusive package)
  • Qualifications: An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years at a middle/senior managerial level. Completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme is mandatory. Relevant certifications such as CRISC, CISA, ITIL, CITM, CISSP, or CGEIT needed.
  • Key Responsibilities: Manage and drive the implementation of IT solution delivery services, align IT strategies with business goals, and ensure compliance with established architecture standards and security protocols.​

5. Director: IT Infrastructure and Service Operations (Ref No: DIRITISO)

  • Location: Pretoria, Hatfield
  • Salary: R1,216,824 per annum (Level 13, all-inclusive package)
  • Qualifications: An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years at a middle/senior managerial level. Completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme is mandatory. Relevant certifications such as CISA, ITIL, CITM, CISSP, or COBIT will be requested.
  • Key Responsibilities: Oversee IT service delivery operations, manage IT infrastructure, ensure network performance and security, and drive the implementation of IT governance frameworks.​
