Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) is delighted to announce the inaugural Content Creators’ Workshop, which will be hosted on Africa Day, May 25, 2023, at Constitution Hill. This date holds special significance as it aligns with the theme of influencing proudly African content, by localising Gauteng tourism narratives. Constitution Hill will partner GTA to ensure a memorable and impactful event.
This workshop comes off the back of the events training workshops held in March and April to guide township events’ organisers in the 5 Gauteng regions on how to apply for support for their events and the management processes to be followed for them to receive support. This aligns with the GTA’s commitment to empower township tourism entrepreneurs and ensure an inclusive tourism sector.
The Content Creators’ workshop will focus on positioning the province as a leading destination by showcasing the region’s unique offerings, sharing captivating stories and experiences from influential content creators, and providing valuable guidance and opportunity insights from industry experts.
In this age of digitization, it is critical to utilise digital assets to influence perceptions of stakeholders in promoting Gauteng. The Content Creators’ Workshop is a significant initiative within our comprehensive approach to meeting the goals of Gauteng Tourism. This workshop serves as a testament to the importance of the GTA’s recently launched app, an outreach and consultative platform designed to facilitate meaningful connections and gather insights from stakeholders across the province.
The Content Creators Workshop aims to provide participants with an immersive learning experience that will empower them to create compelling and authentic content that showcases the beauty, culture, and diversity of Gauteng. The attendees will gain practical knowledge and tools to enhance their storytelling skills.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in panel discussions, interactive sessions, and practical demonstrations led by experienced influencers and industry experts. By sharing their success stories and strategies for content creation in the tourism industry, these influencers will inspire and guide participants in their creative journey. Industry experts will also provide valuable insights into the latest trends and opportunities in the digital landscape. By leveraging their expertise, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to maximise their reach and impact through innovative digital marketing strategies, content distribution channels, and collaboration opportunities.
“We are thrilled to host the Content Creators Workshop. By bringing together influential content creators and industry experts, we aim to inspire and empower participants to create captivating content that highlights the hidden gems and extraordinary experiences available in Gauteng. Through this workshop, we hope to amplify our tourism offering, drive visitor numbers and ultimately contribute to the economic growth of our province.” said Gauteng Tourism Authority CEO, Sthembiso Dlamini.
The Content Creators’ Workshop is open to aspiring and established content creators, including bloggers, vloggers, social media influencers, photographers, videographers, and digital storytellers with a knack for travel/tourism, fashion, music, lifestyle, film, outdoor, adventure or sport. Participants will also be able to network with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and form valuable partnerships within the industry.
The workshop will provide a platform for collaboration and creative exploration, fostering a supportive community of content creators passionate about showcasing Gauteng’s remarkable attractions.
