The Centre for the Less Good Idea is an interdisciplinary incubator space for the arts located in Maboneng, Johannesburg, at Arts on Main, 264 Fox Street.
Founded by William Kentridge and Bronwyn Lace, it functions as a dynamic space for experimental, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary arts practices.
The Centre supports a wide range of projects, including visual art, dance, theatre, site-specific installations, pop-up performances, and talks, fostering innovation and creative exploration within Johannesburg’s vibrant arts community.
Season 11 is currently underway, running from Wednesday, 26 November to Sunday, 30 November 2025, featuring curated performances and activations across six locations in Arts on Main and Fox Street, blending movement, light, sound, and visual installations.
The Centre also hosts the NarowBi Party + Market—a curated cultural experience showcasing music, art, style, and more.
Tickets for the season also include access to these activations and events, encouraging immersive engagement with the local creative ecosystem.
