The Big Red Barn farm precinct is a multi-faceted venue mid-way between Pretoria and Johannesburg. It is family focussed and perfect for relaxing outdoor fun activities including tree top adventures, walking, running, cycling trails, restaurants and a cocktail bar.

The iconic domed Barn, is an antique structure enclosed by roof to floor glass doors and a long, covered patio which overlooks tranquil views of the forest and sloping fields. The expansive interior incorporates a fully licensed restaurant and is perfect for all types of functions & events.  Multiple big and small party venues are spread out around the Barn.

Five hectares of lawn, veld and forest around the Barn include several activities for our visitors, tree top adventures, wooden mazes, a kids play area with a giant pirate ship, jungle gym and electric go-karts,  so much space to play, run and have fun.

Explore further by enjoying the extensive hiking, running trails in the forest and veld surrounding the Barn. Hop on your bike and you can ride for hours on 40 kilometres of MTB trails around the farm.  Bring your dogs!

Pop across the little farm road and discover more activities:  Create, a perfect place find your inner Picasso; paint your own designs on a selection ceramics whilst enjoying a delicious coffee or lunch. Across the courtyard, it’s always cocktail and tapas time at the Liqui’arium, which also serves a variety of boutique wines.  The famous Irene Village Market takes place twice a month under the shade of the majestic eucalyptus trees.
