New Kia Carnival Hits South Africa – Pricing & Features

Kia has officially rolled out the refreshed Carnival in South Africa, marking it as the fourth facelifted model in the brand’s lineup for 2025. It joins the recently updated Picanto, Seltos, and Sorento and comes in two high-spec variants starting from R1,049,995.

Power and Performance

Additionally, under the hood, both versions feature a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel (CRDi) engine producing 148kW and 440Nm of torque. An eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels, delivering smooth gear changes. Fuel efficiency is commendable for its size, with an average consumption of 6.7l/100km.

Design Updates

The latest Carnival adopts Kia’s new design language, echoing the style of the updated Seltos and Sorento. A bold studded grille dominates the front, flanked by LED headlights, while distinctive slim daytime running lights sit both horizontally and vertically.
New 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels (depending on the trim), redesigned taillights, and a more prominent rear bumper complete the facelift.

Seating and Space

Inside, the three-row MPV can be configured with seven or eight seats.

  • The EX model offers an eight-seat (2+3+3) layout.
  • The SXL introduces the “Slide-Flex” seating system, allowing multiple arrangements for second-row chairs.

Cargo space is impressive 1,139 litres with all seats in place, expanding to 4,110 litres when the second row is removed and the third row folded flat.
