The We the 99% People’s Summit for Global Economic Justice will take place from November 20 to 22, 2025, at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.
This summit is a vibrant gathering of activists, civil society members, youth, and changemakers focused on addressing global inequality and economic justice.
It is organised as a counter-movement to the G20 Summit held in Johannesburg, emphasising wealth redistribution, debt relief for low-income countries, and climate justice.
The event features a series of workshops, dialogues, mobilisations, and a People’s Festival with live performances and art installations.
The summit aims to highlight systemic injustices where the richest 1% hold a disproportionate share of global wealth, while billions live in poverty.
Key demands include taxing the wealthy fairly, tackling illicit financial flows, and shifting to renewable energy to confront the climate crisis.
Constitution Hill, with its historic significance as a former prison and symbol of human rights, is transformed during the summit into a dynamic space for resistance, solidarity, and envisioning a more equitable future for all.
