The BMW Art Generation returns to the NIROX Sculpture Park on Saturday, 30 August 2025. Conceived as a festival, living archive, and gathering of minds, the initiative brings together leaders in contemporary African culture for intergenerational and interdisciplinary conversations. By situating established practitioners alongside emerging voices, it creates space for discourse, collectorship, and care, with the conviction that the future of African art must be imagined and safeguarded on African soil.
Vol. III: A Tropology Between Image & Imagination expands on the idea of tropology—traditionally linked to metaphor, allegory, and symbolism—by reimagining it as a framework through which contemporary African practitioners communicate layered meanings, dismantle tropes, and build new languages for reclamation. The programme reflects on histories, discourses, and shifting terrains in which African art moves, affirming artists not just as contributors but as definers of global discourse.
