The Johannesburg, Midrand, Tembisa Taxi Association (JMTTA) has ushered in a new era of leadership. Following its successful elective conference and annual general meeting (AGM), held on April 23, 2025, at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park. The highly anticipated event brought together key stakeholders, members from 19 taxi associations, commuters, and special guests to celebrate progress, address ongoing challenges, and chart the course for the future of the taxi industry in Gauteng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with gospel sensations Dumi Mkokstad and Mthandeni SK setting the tone through uplifting performances that energized the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outgoing deputy chairperson Mr. Sibeko officially opened the proceedings with a warm welcome address. This was met with enthusiastic applause from attendees. He secured 120 votes in a clear show of confidence from the membership. Mr. Nzaba and Mr. Thwala were also elected to serve as the new deputy chairpersons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
