Gauteng, which is also home to the TBCSA, is now scheduled to host its own industry engagement session.

The purpose of the Gauteng roadshow is to increase the organisation’s visibility among tourism businesses, introduce its role in the sector, share available opportunities and create space for direct engagement with industry players.

The TBCSA said the session will focus on strengthening partnerships, sharing industry insights and exploring opportunities for collaboration across the tourism value chain.

City of Ekurhuleni and Gauteng Tourism Authority form part of the programme

The City of Ekurhuleni will host the opening and closing remarks at the roadshow, while the Gauteng Tourism Authority will be represented by Trade and Marketing Manager Mputle Dikobe.

The event will be held at Emperors Palace, a major hospitality, entertainment and conferencing venue in Kempton Park. The choice of venue also places the roadshow in Ekurhuleni, one of Gauteng’s five destination regions and a key gateway for domestic and international visitors arriving through OR Tambo International Airport.

The TBCSA requested the City of Ekurhuleni to partner in hosting approximately 100 tourism-trade delegates. The organisation will cover venue, catering and equipment costs for the event, according to the email correspondence.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1852772760112594"
data-ad-slot="1819787043"
data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

What the TBCSA Gauteng Roadshow will cover

The programme will be directed by TBCSA representative Ntokozo Mtombeni and includes presentations from tourism, hospitality and transport-sector organisations.

Delegates will hear from the TBCSA’s chief executive officer, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, as well as representatives from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, the Cross-Border Road Transport Agency, FEDHASA, Gauteng Tourism Authority and the City of Ekurhuleni.

The confirmed programme includes:

08:30: Registration

09:00: Welcome remarks by the City of Ekurhuleni

09:15: TBCSA overview by Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa

10:00: TBCSA presentation by Boitumelo Daniels

10:30: Cross-Border Road Transport Agency presentation by Nandi Mboxela

11:15: Tourism Grading Council of South Africa presentation by Refilwe Seemise

11:45: Gauteng Tourism Authority presentation by Mputle Dikobe

12:15: TBCSA presentation by Ntokozo Mtombeni

12:45: FEDHASA presentation by Tshidi Mkhosana

13:15: Closing remarks by the City of Ekurhuleni

13:30: Lunch

The programme includes a tea and coffee break at 11:00.

A platform for tourism businesses and associations

The roadshow will create a direct engagement platform for businesses operating across Gauteng’s tourism sector.

This includes accommodation providers, restaurants, transport operators, tour companies, township tourism businesses, event organisers, heritage sites, leisure attractions, conference venues and travel-related service providers.

The TBCSA has said the roadshow is intended to clarify its role in the industry while creating opportunities for tourism businesses to engage with associations, national stakeholders and government-linked tourism organisations.

The participation of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa is particularly relevant for accommodation establishments and tourism businesses that are considering or maintaining formal grading. The programme also gives delegates an opportunity to hear from Gauteng Tourism Authority, the City of Ekurhuleni, the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and FEDHASA in one setting.

The roadshow may be relevant to businesses looking to build industry relationships, understand available opportunities and connect with other tourism operators in Gauteng.

It also reflects continued collaboration between provincial tourism stakeholders, local government and private-sector organisations around tourism development and visitor experiences in the province.

Event Details

Event: TBCSA Industry Roadshow – Gauteng
Date: Wednesday, 15 July 2026
Time: 08:30 for 09:00
Venue: Emperors Palace, Kempton Park
RSVP deadline: Tuesday, 14 July 2026
Contact: Snegugu at snegugu@tbcsa.travel

Tourism stakeholders can register through the event link shared by the organisers.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1852772760112594"
data-ad-slot="1819787043"
data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the TBCSA Gauteng Industry Roadshow?

The roadshow takes place on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

Where will the event be held?

The event will be hosted at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.

Who should attend the roadshow?

The event is aimed at tourism businesses, hospitality operators, associations, attractions, tour operators, accommodation providers and other tourism-sector stakeholders.

Is registration required?

Yes.
