This year\u2019s men\u2019s and women\u2019s marathon champions will each take home R250,000. The 42.2km race is scheduled for 29 November at Nasrec. It promises yet another thrilling showcase of endurance and spirit in one of the country\u2019s most iconic sporting events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-african-bank-marks-50-years-with-continued-support\">African Bank Marks 50 Years with Continued Support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As African Bank celebrates its 50th anniversary, the institution has reaffirmed its dedication to the Soweto Marathon. This is despite the ongoing dispute between the Soweto Marathon Trust (SMT) and the Non-Profit Company (NPC) over hosting rights. Chief Marketing Officer Sbusiso Khumalo assured athletes and supporters that all financial obligations, including prize money and race logistics, are fully secured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe disagreements between the two parties don\u2019t involve us,\u201d Khumalo explained. \u201cOur focus is to ensure the marathon takes place and that winners receive their prize money. He confirmed that the prize fund remains unchanged at R250,000 per winner, highlighting the bank\u2019s commitment to delivering a seamless event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLast year, we sponsored three watering points, and this year we\u2019re increasing that number.
