This marks a major step in the company\u2019s commitment to sustainability and cleaner transport solutions. The launch reflects Eskom\u2019s broader vision of transforming mobility while supporting South Africa\u2019s transition to a low-carbon future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The unveiling ceremony included ribbon-cutting, interactive demonstrations with technical experts, and test drives. They showcased the advantages of EVs from lower emissions and reduced running costs to enhanced operational efficiency. These will be deployed across the Distribution and Generation Divisions to support daily operations and highlight the practical value of e-mobility. A further 100 vehicles are scheduled to join the fleet in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEskom is rethinking how South Africans move in a world where climate change is an urgent reality. To enable this transition, Eskom will expand charging facilities at its own sites and install 55 public EV charging stations within the next two years, creating greater access for consumers and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThrough e-mobility, Eskom is helping drive South Africa toward a cleaner, low-carbon economy. We are cutting emissions, fostering innovation, and showing how sustainable energy solutions can deliver real benefits to both communities and the economy. We see ourselves as more than an electricity supplier we are partners in progress,\u201d said Eskom Group Chief Executive, Dan Marokane.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-preparing-the-grid-for-e-mobility\">Preparing the Grid for E-Mobility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To support rising EV adoption, Eskom is integrating EV demand forecasts into its long-term energy planning.
