This marks a pivotal step toward recognising and integrating traditional medicine into the broader healthcare system, while also promoting research, evidence-based practice, and knowledge sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-empowering-traditional-health-practitioners\">Empowering Traditional Health Practitioners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly launched THP structure is designed to empower <strong>Traditional Health Practitioners<\/strong> to advocate for their rights, enhance the credibility of their practices, and contribute meaningfully to public health initiatives. It will also foster partnerships with academic institutions to build a stronger evidence base for traditional healing methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MEC for Health and Wellness, <strong>Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko<\/strong>, praised the milestone, saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis is a significant milestone that reflects your commitment to leadership and governance within your community. The THP structure aligns with this vision, encouraging <strong>Traditional Health Practitioners<\/strong> to work collectively and scientifically to validate their practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditional medicine remains vital to healthcare for many South Africans, especially in underserved communities.
