At the celebration, Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness, <strong>Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko<\/strong>, praised CMSA for its contribution to South Africa\u2019s healthcare system and for shaping generations of specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the CMSA 70th Anniversary Conference at the University of Pretoria\u2019s Future Africa Campus, Nkomo-Ralehoko highlighted the critical role Gauteng hospitals play in specialist training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe CMSA has been a trusted partner to the Gauteng Department of Health for many years. Through hospitals such as Chris Hani Baragwanath, Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg, Steve Biko, and Dr George Mukhari, we provide clinical platforms that make specialist training possible. These facilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital<\/strong> \u2013 a global leader in trauma, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital<\/strong> \u2013 affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand, offering a wide range of CMSA-linked programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Steve Biko Academic Hospital<\/strong> \u2013 partnered with the University of Pretoria, known for advanced specialist training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital<\/strong> \u2013 affiliated with Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, supporting specialist growth in northern Gauteng.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These hospitals treat thousands of patients every month.
