Ticket sales are surging ahead of Wednesday\u2019s blockbuster showdown at Soccer City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stadium Management South Africa\u2019s managing director, Bertie Grobbelaar, confirmed on Monday morning that fans eager to witness the heavyweight encounter had already snapped up an impressive 27,000 tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-capacity-decision-pending\">Capacity Decision Pending<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at a media briefing, Grobbelaar revealed that the stadium authorities are weighing two attendance options. One proposal allows for 45,000 fans, and another allows for 60,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSafety and security are always our top priorities, but we also have to balance the commercial side of the planning. Opting for a 60,000 capacity instead of 45,000 comes with an additional cost of around R500,000, covering city services, JMPD, medical support, and security companies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The stadium boss confirmed that discussions with Chiefs are ongoing. The final decision will be announced by 12 o\u2019clock on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis decision obviously impacts a wide range of factors.
