This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the welfare and professional development of nursing students through counselling, development programs, and various student support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-responsibilities\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a <strong>Student Counsellor<\/strong>, the successful candidate will be tasked with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developing, planning, and implementing student counselling and development programmes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitating study and life skills to improve students\u2019 academic performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing psychological support to students facing psycho-social challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting in the assessment and referral of students to appropriate external stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advocating for the general welfare and professional development of students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting Student Leaders and promoting their overall development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participating in the recruitment and marketing efforts for new nursing students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducting research related to Nursing Education, policy development, and student support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engaging in continuous professional development (CPD) related to student support services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working effectively in teams and under pressure to meet student needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"gaute-3380256094\" class=\"gaute-inbetween-content gaute-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-top: 30px;margin-bottom: 30px;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;\"><div class=\"gaute-adlabel\">Advertisement<\/div><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-1852772760112594\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1852772760112594\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"1819787043\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-requirements\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Educational Qualifications<\/strong>: A <strong>Senior Certificate (Grade 12)<\/strong> or equivalent qualification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nursing Qualifications<\/strong>: A <strong>Diploma\/Degree in Nursing<\/strong> or equivalent qualification in <strong>Psychiatric Nursing Science<\/strong>, enabling registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nursing Education<\/strong>: A <strong>Diploma\/Degree in Nursing Education<\/strong> registered with SANC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professional Experience<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For <strong>PNDI<\/strong>: A minimum of <strong>4 years\u2019 appropriate nursing experience<\/strong> after registering as a Professional Nurse with SANC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>PNDII<\/strong>: A minimum of <strong>10 years\u2019 nursing experience<\/strong>, with at least <strong>4 years of experience in Nursing Education<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum of <strong>2 years\u2019 psychiatric\/counselling work experience<\/strong> in a mental health environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Additional Skills<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s licence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and report-writing skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer literacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-apply\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications must be submitted <strong>online only<\/strong> via the Gauteng Department of Health\u2019s <strong>E-Recruitment portal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/jobs.gauteng.gov.za\/Public\/ViewJob.aspx?u=cw+JVGnGN75Z727\/SK+y9Q==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apply Now<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Notes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications will not be accepted via hand delivery, fax, or email.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must complete the <strong>new Z83 form<\/strong>, which can be downloaded from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpsa.gov.za\/documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DPSA&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include a detailed CV and ensure the <strong>post reference number<\/strong> is clearly indicated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other relevant documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Due to high application volumes, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
