A portion of the money was\u00a0hidden inside their vehicle. This raised suspicions that the officers had obtained illegal gains.\u00a0Authorities arrested the officers at Jeppe SAPS for corruption and extortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jmpd-s-official-reaction\">JMPD&#8217;s Official Reaction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief of the JMPD and Commissioner Patrick Jaca\u00a0issued a strong response to the arrests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The arrest of these two officers sends a clear message: there is no place for corruption within the JMPD.
