The budget outlines a strategic framework to strengthen municipal finances. Supporting Revenue Enhancement and Compliance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gauteng Treasury is working with local municipalities to implement sustainable revenue collection strategies. Through the <strong>Municipal Financial Recovery Services (MFRS)<\/strong> and the <strong>Revenue Management Support Programme<\/strong>, the department is helping municipalities recover lost income. Moreover, Treasury will continue enforcing the <strong>80\/20 procurement principle<\/strong>, ensuring that a large percentage of provincial spending benefits township-based and black-owned businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-promoting-clean-governance-and-transparency\">4. Promoting Clean Governance and Transparency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Treasury is accelerating the rollout of systems like the <strong>Invoice Management System (IMS)<\/strong> to ensure suppliers are paid within 30 days. This effort also aims to reduce invoice fraud. MEC Maile stressed that all entities receiving provincial funds must deliver measurable, transparent results that improve service delivery.
